Badger's Way is our contemporary and luxurious two-bedroom lodge, that's ideal for nature lovers, walkers and those
who simply want to relax and soak up the beautiful scenery here. Badgers pass by each evening
and with a little patience, you are sure to get an exciting, close up view of them!
The lodge is situated at Limefitt, a 5 star countryside park near Lake Windermere, on the route to
Kirkstone Pass and Ullswater. The spectacular scenery here, the well-kept grounds, the incredible beauty and
attractions of the Lake District, together with the abundance of wildlife at Limefitt, will make a visit
to Badger's Way unforgettable!
Its location is a quiet and most attractive part of Limefitt's grounds.
It has been designed and built for us to a high specification, making it a truly luxurious 'home from home'!
It will comfortably accommodate up to four people and has beautiful views of the Troutbeck Valley.
Wildlife abounds - a variety of woodland birds visit our bird table, whilst buzzards often circle above. Deer
and red squirrels may be seen but our favourite visitors are of course the badgers!
Badger's Way is a superb base for touring, walking and a whole host of activities.
It is also not far away from the bustling Lakeland towns of Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside, where you can
find excellent shopping facilities, bistros, restaurants,
pubs and a variety of entertainment.
This is a light, airy lodge and is fully double glazed and centrally heated throughout.

Badger watching is exciting and great fun! For the past few years, on our visits
to Badger's Way, we have been lucky enough to see one or more badgers virtually
every evening. They come whatever the weather and occasionally more than once in
the evening. Badgers are creatures of habit so we hope they will continue to visit
us for many years to come! The Badger Trust have sent us an information pack,
which you may like to read whilst at the lodge.
Limefitt is a tranquil park set amidst truly breathtaking scenery in one of Lakeland's
most beautiful valleys. There are traditional stone buildings and walls, mature trees,
grazing sheep and unspoilt surroundings!
The pretty reception building has a small shop selling the basics. Newspapers,
fresh milk and bread are delivered daily and stamps / postcards are available. A
public phone box is outside reception.
The children's adventure playground is in a lovely setting, with a river pool and
grassy picnic area close by.
Overlooking the park, is Limefitt's cosy lakeland pub - 'The Haybarn' - which
serves good food, local beers and has a small games room, pool table and darts.
There is a large recreation field with football and badminton nets.
The launderette is excellent and has ironing facilities - £1 coins needed.
There are security cameras on site and the park gates are closed to cars at night. A security guard patrols the
grounds until the early hours.
There are a variety of enjoyable walks leading directly from the lodge, suiting all levels of fitness and children of all ages.
Many of these walks are circular and have local, friendly 'hostelries' along the route!
The lodge has a variety of walking books for you to use and a file with
photographs of some of our favourite local walks. When planning a walk please
remember to wear suitable clothing and footwear, carry food and drink etc.
